How To Make Peppermint Coffee Mocha
This peppermint mocha coffee is the perfect indulgent holiday drink. Easy and tasty, it’ll only take you 10 minutes to make and, best of all, it’s a great way to enjoy a delicious gourmet coffee on a cozy winter working morning.
I look forward to the weekend all week so I can enjoy my favourite latte over a nice conversation with my best friend. We often find ourselves at Starbucks, ordering a 10$ peppermint mocha.
This led me to take a shot at creating my own version. After many trials, my recipe of the peppermint mocha coffee was born.
If coffee and peppermint is your thing you’re guaranteed to love this! This recipe is one of my holiday favourites because it has the perfect amount of sweetness. It’s a little less sweet than your other recipes, we use real cacao powder with a dash of maple syrup and crushed candy cane.
Peppermint Mocha Variations
– Caramel Mocha: If you don’t like peppermint, replace this ingredient with Caramel.
– White Mocha: If dark chocolate is not your thing, try this recipe with white chocolate syrup instead.
– Go With Plant-Based Milk: If you’re vegan, lactose intolerant or just don’t love the taste of regular milk, try adding your favourite milk substitute. I strongly recommend trying pistachio milk with this recipe.
– Try Different Beans: This recipe will taste different depending on the type of coffee beans you choose.
How To Make It
Heat up the milk mixture: In a milk frother add your choice of milk, cacao powder, and dash of maple syrup. Mix until the sugar is combined.
Get caffeinated: In a separate container, add a serving of your favorite brewed espresso. Combine the peppermint and vanilla extract to the coffee and blend together.
Serve it up: add the espresso mixture to a mug of your choice. Top with the frothed milk combination and decorate it with your favorite garnish (mine is whipped cream and crushed candy cane).
